NUTRITION SERVICES

The Los Angeles Department of Aging offers a diverse and flexible network of nutrition services designed to meet you where you are. While our Multipurpose Senior Centers remain the heart of our vibrant, in-person community dining experiences, our programs have expanded to ensure every older adult has access to healthy food in a way that fits their lifestyle. Today, eligible seniors can access nutritionally balanced meals through our welcoming congregate dining sites, convenient to-go pick-ups, and home delivery for those who are homebound. Our goal is to provide not just a meal, but a connection to your community. For more information visit our Multipurpose Senior Centers page.

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)

The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), known in California as CalFresh, is a federally funded program that helps eligible older adults (60+) stretch their budgets to buy healthy, nutritious food. You can get more information or apply over the phone by calling the State Hotline at (877) 847-FOOD (3663).

Individuals receiving CalFresh benefits can conveniently use their Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) card to order groceries online for at-home delivery. Online EBT purchasing has expanded significantly and is now accepted by a wide variety of participating retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Ralphs, Vons, Albertsons, and through delivery platforms like Instacart.
